    Perkasa

ok doke, a boat taht i`ve only had in the water once since obtaining her at ellesmere port exhibition.

i was informed it was brave borderer of teh brave class type torpedoe boats, however i have been unable to match this against the registration number as of yet.

the model is scratch built on a metcalfe fibreglass hull with some metal and resin cast fittings. powered by a single screw ( the real boats had triple screws) . she is aprox 34 inches long and handles very well. the bow lifts nicely on the plane with a 8.4v nicad and even a 7.2 v nocad pack. but she was built for 12v power !!!

powered by a robbe 700 bb turbo motor (direct drive) to an aggressive propellor she really does fly as the pics show.........

just to prove that the pic was not just a `lucky shot ` on a small wave, here`s another ......

in the water at full tilt there is only about 4 inches of hull in the water.

just like how one of these should go !!!

    cheers

    Adz..

p.s thanx to No.6 for the pics :clap_1:

    Hi Adzam,

Perkasa was built by Vospers for Malaysian Navy, and not sure of pennant number, but Brave Borderer was P1011, and Brave Swordsman P1012. Only two in class.

Of similar appearance were the Scimitar class fast patrol boats, but numbers on hull do not correspond with your model either viz. Cutlass P274; Sabre P275; Scimitar P271. However these appear not to have been fitted with forward guns as on model.

Sorry can't be more help on that score.

    Chris

Nice model Adzam and those pics are excellent, you certainly get the impression of speed from them.

Looks to be a fun model to sail.

        Regards........Mark.

kingstin mouldings do a brake borderer/perkasa hull at 1/32

contacting them should shed some light on plans for the hull also
