    serious help required!!!!

    ok, here's the background info:

my neighbour is having a Viking themed wedding and he has given me a 1/72 scale Viking ship to complete (the "gokstad" 9th century Viking ship by EMHAR)

I have just over 4 weeks to complete it to a very high standard in all the whole thing will be painted in gold.

to me the instructions are just a mess especially the last page where it tells you how to attach all the rigging for the sail as that's something I want to do.

    I need help and fast.

anyone who specialises in model ships or the Viking era would be greatly appreciated, as I need it.

    thanks, tiger

I would suggest a Forestay and Backstay and a couple of shrouds on either side, three or four lines of reefing points and a sheet from each lower corner of the sail to a belaying point somewhere near the stern. As there has never been a longship found with intact rigging its all best guesses. There is a thread on the Britmodeller forum about a viking boat build. It includes some photo's!

      A Revell Viking Longboat.

Look in the boats & subs section, Maritime Ready For Inspection.
