my type 7 sub ( now sold)

:emo10: this sub( an old R.M.MARINE) i bought last year of e-bay in a very sad state , the rear deck was more hole than deck , no guns , no internals , motors etc, was used as a static dive but no compressor , had the pressure tank , i made up my own dive system , colour scheme came from the revell wolf pack kit ( which is in the prosses of being made to static dive) , i displayed it last year at our local show , had a lot of interest shown in her , but now has been sold :emo10:

    Hi Paul,

Interesting sub and one I remember from Ebay. I seemed to think at the time that it looked like it needed a bit of TLC. Why did you sell it after putting all that work into it?

I am also in the process of making the Revell model but I actually prefer to make a surface runner out of this kit. The only diving ones I have seen all seem to be ballasted to deck level which is such a waste of all that lovely detail. I have ballasted mine to normal water line and I am going to have some crew on the bridge with pennants flying etc to give it a bit more presence on the pond. I just want to show off as much of the model as possible.

What dive system are you going to fit? It will be interesting to see how you make yours and compare it with mine. Have a look at how mine is progressing in the thread I started for it. Unfortunately it is all on hold until I am home again but I hope it shouldn't be too long before it is ready to sail.

Here's a link to Steve Neill's video clip of his Revelle 7 in the pool doing some diving etc.

i sold it to fund some other model stuff, my girlfriend is disabled and we don't get a lot of money , so if i need modelling bits i have to sell a model to fund my hobby, i toke me just over a week to put back together, i had to rebuild the rear deck with filler and then recut the slots with a dremmel , both guns were built from scratch , the conning tower was copyed from the revell kit , i cut out all of the slots in the hull , as when i did the first test run before i did any work on it , it would'nt sink propperly, it was a sod to ballast , and i could only get a 6volt gel cell in so the running was very slow on the two 385 motors, as to the revell one , a friend works for a medical company in the electronics side , he repairs testing machines with small pumps in from 3volt up 12 volt , he gave me four of the 3 volt ones , they are only 2" long by 1" diameter, and have a high pressure rate , and he also gave me some one way valves,i have yet to test these to pump water , i will let you know how i get on , i had a look at yours and was interested in the deck , but when i got the price i decided to stick with the plastic one .just added some more pics.
