After taking the family out to our usual new year lunch i returned and headed straight for the workshop. I managed to sand down yesterdays paint job, turned the ship over and painted what the airbrush had missed and then marked on the water line ready for the red paint.
Really looking good andy , the primer looks nice and smooth , top work , cheers tony
Thanks Tony, i have never sprayed anything this size with an airbrush before, i usually use the miniture gun. Im pleased with the outcome, lets see tomorrow how do when i have thinned down the Flare Matt Red im going to use. I think ill build it up with several fine coats.
Looks very smooth Andy, just shows preparation is the important part eh?.
You've probably already got this sussed but a mate of mine who built boats quite a bit used to put some of those cheap felt sticky pads on the stand/cradle (whatever its called) when he tipped it up the right way to stop the paint being damaged or sticking to the stand/cradle if not fully cured for any reason.
He used to swear by them and said they were better than the rubber/soft plastic type pads you sometimes get issued with the boat kit.
