      nice one Andy.

Ships rails, must be the navy modellers answer to single link tracks for a tanky. A pain in the bum but look the bee's when done.

Sorry to say it but not to sure about that Mamot thing. is it a vinyl sticker or a decal. It looks like there is a lot of air under it.

Hmm. Thats a pity. A man with your tallents, have you not considered removing it and painting the text instead? It seams a shame as everything else it looking very sharp so far.

Allyne, put it down to the savage North Sea, but if it does start bugging you, get a fine needle and puncture the air holes. Then gently squeeze the trapped air out.

            Excellent work.

Ron, when I did my Trawler, the I used this guy for the name and Funnel Flag, he does the names in thin individual lettering, any colour so you don't have the panel effect. The end result is slightly raised lettering, but so are the letters on a real vessel. Cheers Derek

Thanks guys for your info. It isnt really that bad, i think the problem here is that it is vynal on Matt paint im sure that once some decent heat has got to it it will stck better. Ill try a close up for you and you will see that there are no air bubbles trapped underneath.

                      Cheers

The masts are both finished and painted now that the airbrush problem was solved. You will see that one of the radar booms is missing, this is because it is a rotating one and can only be fitted when the tower is in place on the wheel house roof this is because i have to cut the shaft to length when the motor is in place. The next job is to fit the lighting and connect them as they should be sequenced for various manouvers.

Im looking for a little help guys. i have searched the net for reference pics of the hand rails on ships. The reason for this is that i have seen a clip on movie i was watching the other day and noticed that the top rail was black, as soon as i noticed this i didnt get time to see if the upright posts were black as well or just the rails to the post leaving the post white. I cant find any pictures to confirm this, any ideas please?

                          Cheers

I think its a ship by ship thing. Only such places as the Royal Navy, and the like, have carved in stone rules as to how railings should be painted.

A private ship, be it person or company, would I imagine paint their rails exactly how they see fit.

I have now completed the upper decks apart from glueing the funnels to the cabin, i will complete this tomorrow when the paint on the last ladder is dry, this is the one to the wheel house roof. All the lighting is now wired and tested, the rotating radar is connected to the motor so all is good.
