    HMS Belfast F90 1/96 scale

    Hi All,

As I posted last month after joining the forum , I would start a new thread about my current in build model of HMS BELFAST Type 26. This is first posting and I’m using it as a test to see if I can post a new thread with photos. If this works I’ll add more photos as I progress. The photo attached is of my model 16 months in build and after painting the hull.

        Gents,
a quick update on how I got to this point in the build.

A good friend how is the owner of Scalewarships, asked if I’d like to build a new project “TYPE 26” in 1/96 scale. He was inshore if it was going to be add to his product line at that time, so my build is based on the first pro type hull.

with this project. I plan on having the following working function

        Gun mount rotation
Helicopter hanger fully detailed with opening door
Helicopter to track in and out of the hanger
All lights,in the following areas - mast, flight deck, bridge, boat bay and mission bay
Now the most complicated functions - Mission Bay doors opening and working Mission bay crane.
        Twin motors
        rudders
        Radar

This will be interesting to follow. An impressive and complex project.

It would be nice to know your first name. Just add it into your profile.

Hello All some more pic to start bring this thread up to date.

A bit of back ground on my modelling is I always make my own prop shafts and “A” frames and rudders. I also make all my own fittings by making a master fitting which I take a mould using RTV silicon and cold casting resin.

                    Thanks Chris,
yes the forum is a lot different than last month, but usable.

iv been in the workshop correcting my early assumptions as after seeing photos and videos of the second Type 26 Frigate.

i will post some photos once I’ve completed the changes.
