Carrying on from my last Post the first section of keel and bulkheads is finished and the lower and upper parts have strengthener to separate the and it also acts as a former when the outer layer is attached.

That is comings long rather nicely Peter. I don't envy your task with all those 1/200 scale A6M's, but the one you displayed above looks great.

I have now just finished the middle section and now joined it to the front and add the middle corners and added some scrap joining pieces

Good work Peter - and fast too!

It took me a week to build my bulkheads and frame work, and the ferry I made was less than a foot long, so top marks on such rapid progress.

Apologies for the quick work as the glue I have dries super quick.

I have now finished the final rear third to achieve the full length although it's not yet attached.

No need for any apologies Peter. I am just amazed how quickly the model is going together - and it's looking good too.

                    Top job.....

Next up on this build is the lower hull plate's quite simple as it's just cut and wrap over with no bending.

And I have also have the poop deck in place.

                        Taking shape nicely Peter.

                        If you don't mind, here's a tip.....

See where the poop deck dips between the bulkheads? i don't know if your kit has them already, but I cured this by making some card stiffeners from scrap and fitted them tight between the bulkheads and up to the underside of the deck. This gave good bracing to the deck and also a nice clean, straight edge to the deck and ensured an equal margin around the 'upstand' when the upper hull is glued in place.

I put a load on the side of the model too. This stopped any chance of any 'in and out' when the hull proper is glued on.

I hope the above is of some use to you.

No need to try and take it off Peter, you could well damage the piece, just add some stiffeners underneath the deck. If you re-do it as is, it will probably happen again. That's the down side of card I'm afraid. You need lots of strengthening over and above the actual construction.

I put extra stiffeners between the bulkheads on the hull too. This helped prevent any 'in and out' when the sides are glued on

Time for another go on this one I have got all the sides glued on and the first of the decks being my first card kit there is a few mistakes on the bow but I will sort it at the end of the build and probably a repaint of the bottom half.
