Since the last update I have been working on the shell holders that go around the 4" Gun bandstand. There are 36 of them, each one takes about 1/2 an hour to make. So I only did a few at a time as they were very frustrating to make. Here they are ready to be primed. The 2nd photo shows a couple of ammunition boxes, which will be used on the bandstand instead of a couple of the shell holders. The shell holders are made of 3 parts the back, the front part which needed 6 bends to get the correct shape and the bracket at the front for supporting the shell.

Just had a catch up. Excellent work going on here. This is going to be a stunner when you finish it...by the way, what solder are you using? Carr’s 145 and phosphoric acid flux would love this build....

Thanks. Yes I am using Carr's red flux and 0.5mm solder for the larger bits. The ammo boxes are soldered as are parts of the bandstand.

A great deal of miniature madness. Hopefully no burning accidents with the solder. Great stuff:thumb2:

Yes there was a lot of cursing. I nearly dumped the lot and use the plastic ones. Ihaven't burnt myself yet, but I have a lot of soldering to do.

Hi Graham, just had a catch up, good progress. Will keep an eye on this as l have just purchased this one myself. Probably will build out of the box, but looking forward to starting in the next few weeks.
                Good luck.
                Cheers

The bandstand and 4" gun is now complete, just needs to be painted and then putting the bit together.

The bandstand and 4 inch gun is now painted an installed. This could have been a kit on its own.

                        Hi Graham
Simply stunning. To build up all that etch so neatly is a credit to your skill and patience.

The anti-submarine "hedgehog" is now complete and installed. Compared to the previous sub assemblies, this was a very quick build. Here a build log for the hedgehog
