Hi all
Once again gentlemen I am grateful for your support and interest. Sure keeps one 'mogglin on' :thumb2:
I have been working on the main superstructure. Quite a few bits of PE to replace plastic parts.

Even battleships are rather small at 1/700 :rolling:

I have been following this from the back row and now I have reached a conclusion that I must share with you. Jim, you have lost all your marbles this time Sir. They have rolled off in a hundred directions and are never coming back!!!
1/700 with etch??? I can't even count that high, let alone see it. You are a master being able to work with etch and parts so small. I can't wait till you get to the figures!!! Totally amazing work Jim...……………………..
Hi all John - the details on the Trumpeter kit are good OOB. It is one of their later offerings. Allen - perhaps lost my marbles a while ago according to the missus. Mind you I don't think many of us in this hobby are totally sane. Your V2 dio is brilliant but you'd have to have a few slates loose to tackle that :smiling: Scottie and Richard - always a boost to get positive feedback from modellers whose work inspires :thumb2: Steve - thanks for the photos. I have seen some before but not others. The second to last photo of the Walrus set me thinking. My Walrus didn't look right and then it dawned on me - I had left the wheels on  So out with the clippers and a paint touch up :thumb2:

I then spent a silly amount of time on the lower part of the main mast. Just so fiddly. A lot more to add but the crane was the bit that was worrying me most

Thanks a lot guys.

Hi Ron - compressed air cylinders sounds right. I have just watched a YouTube video from 1940 on catapult launching and recovery - most interesting. The power was either compressed air or an explosive charge - I think they said cordite. Paul and Steve - thanks guys :thumb2:
Hannants order arrived. As always first class service from them although I find their website difficult to navigate. Little planes are in clear plastic - why I don't know.

They come 12 in a packet so if anyone needs a 1/700 Walrus I'm your man :tongue-out3:
To make up the minimum order I added these. I have bigger ants in the garden!! At least they are pre-coloured :smiling5:

The only reason I can think of in regards to the clear plastic for the aircraft is for those who suffer from extreme AMS and want clear canopies on 1/700 aircraft.
Build is looking good. The colour chart will be useful as I also have the Tamiya kit.

Hi Jim, good you spotted the wheels up at point of catapulting. I think it's down when the wings are folded back for storage. Don't know if they were detachable.
