Nice work Jim. I would be too scared to handle it. It looks so fragile. Looking forward to the next update already

Neat work on the railings Jim, great idea to copy the bends to a paper and work from there.:smiling:
Saved a lot of fit and adjust moments me thinks, on to the next update.:thumb2:

Hi Jim, good to see this one back on the bench. And your plan is sound. Looking forward to see all the railings fitted!

                Morning Jim,
                Looking good:thumb2:
That’s seems a logical idea for the railing installation...no margin for butter fingers though:surprised:

                    Hi all
Thanks for the most encouraging comments. Always a great boost to have thoughtful, positive words from people whose work you admire. No offence to the wife and daughter but their comments are kind but they really haven't a clue. It's the same, I suppose, when I say the wife's latest historical doll costume is great :rolling:
Railing are working. Very slow and very tiny. As Steve mentioned everything is fragile and so I have to think carefully before doing anything.

I take it you are brush painting everything now?? Do you metal prime and paint prime as well or just thin layers of acrylic on the bare metal??

                            Hi all
Well I'll bet most of you thought that the poor old Rodney had sunk without trace :tongue-out3:. Despite progress being at a geriatric snail's pace things have progressed so a bit of an update.
Railings! A real pain. Here I must thank Ralph for some most useful tips. I measured, cut and fitted with tiny pieces of Tamiya tape.

Then I laid out the lengths in order and primed and painted them.

The railings were fixed in place again with the tape and thin CA was wicked along the base. Took ages to get it all lined up. Not perfect by far but not too bad.

                                Evening Jim,

Don't worry Sir, we all thought you were committed and didn't have access to the internet. I don't know how you can have any nerves left after looking at the etch railing. You seemed to have mastered it though and it looks great. Ralph is so an expert in these tiny things and glad to hear he helped out. His work is fantastic in this tiny scale.

Don't worry Jim, we're with you till the bitter end!!!!

                                Prost
