Hi Chris
Just had a real good catch up and WOW! I'm impresssed. This is huge. No wonder you built it in two halves. So many hours already and still many hours to go. I have not seen anything like this built before so it is very interesting to see how you go about it. Filling and sanding the hull must be a big job but when done it will truly look the part - all sleek and smooth.

Just a thought I built a 6' Mississippi steamer in my 20s and I could stand in it and still not sink it enough to get to the plimpsol line in the end I recessed the hull to make it need less ballast. I recon that will need a fair amount of ballast (I realise it's not anywhere near as wide as a Mississippi steamer) even so it will still need a lot of ballast.Comment
