HAHA Rick you gave me a good laugh on the "Floating" Machine Gun!! an i dont intend to get the guns to actully fire as i was told if you wanted to do anything like that you have to go a yrs exsplosive course dont know if true but in this country well an id need a funny ole insurance as ive seen poeple do it but very exspensive as at one show on sheringham pond a chap had a lovely destroyer an he towed deternators behind the ship on 20ft long wires an to try an sink the sub in the show an talk about a hell of a bang an the water went 10ft in the air but it was great but i hav'nt seen him now for a long time as this was in the late 80 's but all good fun

AN HI again Paul many thanks for the pics an info very kind of you an now it gives me more info on the turret an guns an i think why they dint work very well was due to the fact that in the early 50's these automatic guns were in the exsperiemental stages as the ship was nr to 20 yrs in build time so ive been told but when i get to the gun buildin stage it wont be as complex as the top pic lol. All i want to do if i can is make the turrets travase left an right an the guns elevate an the they hit a knock on switch which wil start the yellow leds in the gun barrels to flash like gun fire an hopefully a gunfire sound unit fitted in an to do this i exspect i'll have had enough by then an then carry on fittin all the other things like life raft containers an railings wow what have i taken on here but im enjoyin doin it so far
        ATB Paul an cheers

Just seen all your 'together' pictures Chris. Wow! Your vision and execution of this build puts the sticking of pre-formed bits of plastic together well and truly in the shade....

I can't believe that it's such a long build - another 2 years, before it's together again :surprised:

HI Gerry yes its gona be a long build im afraid as what you have seen so far when she was altogeather is only about half way an theres all the other bits of superstruckure an all the railings to be fitted about 400 or so an then there all the eletrics to fit an get working an at the moment ive only the vaugeust idea what eletrics i'll need an yes these R/C ships do take yrs as my nimitz aircraft carrier was a 7 yr build an this tiger is more complex so im in for the long run
                    cheers

When this thing is clearer, I'd love to pop up to see these floaty boaty things actually sailing (local ponds wouldn't take anything that sort of size - don't think they'd be able to turn round!)

WELL Gerry i sail either at norwich eaton park but mainly at sheringham boating pond as there its easy to park my car right up to the pond edge an its a concrete pond made for model boats an you would be welcome to see her sail but sometimes when i take norfolk up there its a job with the holl makers as they like to ask questions an some times i hardly get a chance to sail as i dont like to be rude to them an ignore them

Only two in this area are Woodbridge and Aldeburgh (have taken our sons and grandson to both with their 'boats' to them) - Woodbridge has a model sailing club, but it's only maybe 20 feet wide, Aldeburgh is slightly bigger, but not by much.
