HI ALL well im pretty pleased with me ole self as ive been nr all day testing eletric bits on tiger an only found one main prob so i rectiyfied it an well i put on the main 12v 12amp hr batt an it put on the tester to see what voltage was in it an it was dead on 13 v SO i fitted in another unit an had a good think an tonight she ran with nr everything goin for half an hr an just stopped it then an removed all the S//S an tested the batt well i think ive cracked the power prob as the batt when i tested it had only dropped point 13th of a volt AS THE TESTER READ 12- 87 V so tomorrow will tell all as its getting late an jen wants me to bed

It's rather exhausting just reading this about the fuses etc . Hope tomorrow brings good news when you wake up with a clear head !

Great to hear you have nailed down the problem Chris, I know electrics can be a pain in the a*** from my early days flying electric model aircraft.

thanks on the eletrics fault well im just please that i THINK ive sorted some of the problems as she ran well last night but thats the trouble with eletrics you think are its all done an ok but when you start to run it for a longer period the eletrics can get another problem an bite me on the A*rse so im not gonna cheer to loud but most of the problem was down to me IN THE FIRST PLACE as i was worried for wks about this eye op an not thinkin clearly but i'll exsplain more clearly in a little while when i can put on some pics

HI ALL well i THINK ive cured the problem with the eletronics the problem was down to me IN THE FIRST PLACE as i was worried for wks about this eye op an not thinkin clearly but i'll exsplain more clearly NOW I BROKE THE GOLDEN RULE of eletronics an ran all the 6v units which there are quite a few through this 12v down to 6 v voltage reducer an it was getting really hot so the thermal auto cutout came into play an did what its designed to do an thats cutout for a micro second to try an cool the unit an then cut back into play to run things an as it was so overloaded an hot that was the cause i think for the massive current drain on the batt ( but pete maysay otherwise as he an eletricll engineer i think so he knows more than me how eletrics behave )

but how this unit should have been wired up was to just RECEIVER or R/X to power just the 10 servos BUT NO like an egit i wired nr everything through it hence it getting hot an i also stopped what the PDB board an this stands for POWER DISTOUBUTION BOARD so it feeds all things evenly as it was designed for an trying to do so havin a think after loads of circut tests i got out a new 12v to any voltage or 6v as it can be ajusted to several voltages an thought right i powerd all the servos stop right there on that unit an i cut up a new reducer an fitted it in place to run the rest of the ships lights an 2x 4 radars on the masts an hanger bay an open an shutting doors an other things it now seems ok but will show some pics first off the unit that i over wired

Chris, I'm really glad that you seem to have found the solution to electrics problem.
It is all confusing to me. Electronics and I are not the best of friends
Strength isn't about what you can do, rather it's about overcoming what you thought you couldn't do.

                    Hi Chris
I don't understand any of the technicalities of all this wiring and power supply stuff but I am really happy that you seem to have it sorted.
You have worked so hard and stuck with it. All credit to you.

Chris, I don't know what that PDB is supposed to do, but I'm pleased you seem to have fixed the problem. That power reducer would have to cut out for more than a microsecond if it was overheated, more like a few minutes to let it cool down, so I#m wondering if your battery did actually go flat, or was it just that the reducer was shut down?
It's easy to get things wrong when you're worrying about something like an operation - don't ask how I know!.

HI Garry yes eletrics can be a PITA when doin the wireing an a lot like i have done on tiger but if i want things to work then it takes wirein to do it an im not that good beleive me all i know is what ive self taught over the last 30 odd yrs as i dont understand all this talk about amps an watts my boaty m8 richard does an when he starts off talking about this my eyes just glaze over lol i wire things up as simple as can be but there must be inline fuses an auto switches from the servos an so far up to now ive managed but like everthing always a first time to come unstuck

AN HI Jim yes it is a bit technical but i understand the basics that why all my othe ships worked ok but on this one why i wired it all into one unit is beyond me an the eye op weighin heavy on me i suppoce i just wanted to get it all working quickly an not thinking of the unit would get hot an cause this just as well that auto thermal cutout was in or it would have fused it well this is all my fault jim so i dont think i deserve credit but a good kick up the butt maybe more in line lol BUT IVE NOW LEARNED MY LESSON an that wont happen any more

WELL HI Pete well the PDB STANDS for POWER DISTROBUTION BOARD an that means i shoud have used all 4 outlets on the board instead of just two as the board does what it says it distrubutes the power evenly to all eletric units in the ship so this is my fault but there still maybe other probs yet as in testing yesterday i found three wires jiont that had been soldered an covered with shink rap but when testing found that the jionts had broken an it was just the shrinkrap holding the wires togeather an i know why the wires broke was because i was in the hull looking for other wires an moving these wires about so they broke unbeknow to me but many thanks for your help Pete much appcheiated

I know what it stands for Chris - only because you mentioned it earlier, but I don't understand how it's supposed to function. I've googled, and some seem to be far too complicated for what they claim to do. Can you let me know the make and model of yours?
Radio Control has changed a massive amount since I last had anything to do with it, back in the pre-digital mists of time!
