Of course I got quite excited at the sight of that blowtorch, looks a neat bit of kit.

As for the build it's absolutely mind-blowing Chris, how on earth you have the drive to accomplish something like this which has taken so long is brilliant and a credit to you .

HI John yea i thought if you see that flame from my pencil torch you'd get on a high as i know you love to see flames  :rolling::smiling::smiling::smiling: lol haha but it certainly did the job of soldering the heavy duty wires togeather as the soldering iron would not get hot enough so no good but now ive made up the wireing harneess its already to connect everthing togeather but ive just got too hope that them ESC 's are up to the job as i had a smaller one of the same make on my bow thruster on my NIMITZ carrier an it cost 28 quid an when i powered it up it went up in smoke after only about 5 seconds of running an the in line 5amp fuse did not blow so that was a classic waste on money an thats the reason why i dont have much confidecne in these new ones so today i will just connect it all up an have frind who knows more about this BEC system than me an he's comin over tomorrow so i'll put off powering it up till he comes an have a look at it all an many thanks for your nice comments John
        all best chris

HI Tony cheers for that an if you are ejoyin the build then that to me is nice to know im givein someone enjoyment from my labours but there is still a lot that can go wrong so forward planning is a must just got to hope i get it right as i have no instructions an the bloomin R/C instuckions may be wrong as well as ive had two german speaking gents sayin that the english translation from german is wrong as in the english instuctions it says that the R/X ( receiver ) has a BEC (battery elimanaton circut ) installed in it but they say there is no BEC in the R/X so just got to hope they are right as it could go up in smoke an this is a very exspenive R/C so a worrying time for me
but thank you for havin a look in on the build

Hi Chris, since we last discussed my little r/c models, which I just couldn't let go, I've started a new build recently. I think reading your build thread has become infectious. I said "NO MORE R?C MODELS", but....
I started building a little 24" (600mm) r/c paddler, 'Royal Falcon' based on the Thames paddler 'Royal Eagle'. A design from back in the 1950s by Vic Smeed, I just like his designs and having owned a few paddle steamers in the past which were enjoyable to sail. R/c builds tend to take me around 4 years.
Nothing like the detail of your builds, as a 'kitchen table' builder its a case of building what is practical.
