UPDATE TIME GUYS
[ATTACH=CONFIG]n1141660[/ATTACH] i built it before i thought about havin a steam unit fitted in an this pic show that i just fitted streaked plasticard to represent the cooling vents as these are on the real ship here an they are at the lower right side corner

This is not a model, its the real thing...

But now im fitting in the steam unit these vents will need to be cut out an real ventalation grill will be fitted an there will be TWO 40mm fans one will blow into a downtake to help the small fan fitted in the steam unit TO BLOW the steam up the pipe to the funnel as it will be a fairly long pipe about 7inches long with the funnel tube an the other fan will be fitted in to cool the radar motor as if in a model show it could be running for hrs so will get hot hence the cooling fan

AN now a shot of the underside of the radar motor in red an i have just enough space to fit the fans on either side an fit a downtake but this will come later

Now here in this pic ive removed the radar motor as it only held in by two screws
so i can cut out the vent grils holes an they are done easy peasy

THE MAIN S/S is now due for major surgey these first two holes will be for the 2 X 40mm fans one downtake to the steam unit an one for radar motor cooling

an next pics to show where the fans will be mounted as the top S/S WILL lift off over these fans

an the holes have not yet been filed level so a bit rough here

Next pic up is a shot of the steam pipe an now this will end up in a big S shape as the pipe has got to fit dead on the steam unit top pipe then held in postion will feed up to the front funnell all bein well if my forward planning is right it is in my mind anyway the way i visulise it

Now here ive just laid the front funnel on the s/s to get a rough idea of how long this steam pipe will be an the fan ventilation holes in 02 deck can now be seen ok

AN next pic up is where i have really gone to town on the major sugery as this is so i can see to line up the steam pipe to the steam unit an big enough to get my hand inside the main S/S its goin to be a right pig i think very awkward

Really cracking work Chris. The last shot reminds us just how big this puppy is!
