I've got 41mm props on ID, which is a smaller vessel, and they seem to be quite adequate to propel her with 2 x 550 motors in direct drive.
Garry, how many blades on your 41 mm props?

It does rather sound like the Tiger has it in for you Chris. I hope you get it sorted.

Stick with it mate. I’m sure you’ll sort it out in the end. Just have a couple of days off doing something else to clear your head. You can come back to it with a fresh approach then.

Chris, sorry to read of your ongoing woes with 'Tiger'.

I only wish I could forward some possible answers to the problem, but my knowledge of such things is zero.

All I can do is send my best wishes for a successful outcome. I'm sure all will be sorted eventually.

Tim is quite right. Take a step back for a while and leave the thing alone. A clear head works wonders.

                All the best.

Chris, sorry to hear of your troubles with the power system and as others have said just walk away from it for a while and then look at it with fresh eyes. Perhaps build another type of model to take your mind off it, I know I have left models I have had problems with for a while and then come back to them.

                  Andy.

AN Andy yes im goin to have a about a six month break from her an start again about xmas but im thinkin major hull changes as drillin out the prop shafts an fittin bigger props an these bigger motors an doin like i did on my NIMITZ CARRIER as i fitted 4 rudders on her an she was very good for turning an it was a bigger hull than tiger so im thinkin of fittin 4 rudders on tiger as yes i know it wont be like the real ship but needs must lol but as this hull is such a rounded shape its goin to take a bit of thought an yes due to this high wind yesterday i was not the only one to have damage as one of the young guys had his big R/C LORRY get blown off his table onto the congrete an it smashed all the lights in the lorry front so this bloomin wing has got a lot to answer for lol
                    cheers to you also

Chris, does Tiger only have one rudder?

Edit, I went through your build again, and see that she does indeed only have one rudder.

That sounds like a great idea Chris.
Two rudders positioned directly in the wash from the props should sort the turning problem out.

I won't say I get a lot of parcels delivered but I know most of the posties by name and half the GLS delivery drivers. lol.
Hope they get to you tomorrow. I would be waiting at the gate for the buggers!
