I'm considering airbrushing the model light grey for one colour then hand brush the Navy blue camo on top rather than try and be too clever with making etc. I'll have a think but I've already done the deck so I'll probably still hand paint the camo

      Nice progress Gary.
Just a thought. Is there any need to paint the small ordinance the same as the camo.?

I don't think so Ron. I'm really enjoying the small detail on this and will probably paint the small guns a Vallejo Air grey or gunmetal all with a 0 brush. Fiddly but as I say I'm finding that bit fun. I must get out more :flushed:

Amen to that brother - fiddly but fun!

Now you've cut your marine teeth on 1/700, have a go at a 1/1200 warship. I recommend the Bismark or Yamato Now they are fun, and well worth all the cursing.... :upside: :thumb2:

Look for Revell 'Mini Ships'. The Yamato I made measures 21cm, yet, for its size has amazing detail.

Painted and ready to be tidied up a bit. The camo lines look better than in the pictures but I will straighten some of the edges up a bit before matt varnish. Next the dio

                          Looking good Gary.
Ee zee line is great for the rigging, but please don't paint it black!

I agree with Chris. She has to be plonked on some water... :thumb2:

Ah, the line I ordered and have is 0.1 black nylon. Should it be silver ?

I'm actually going to lightly sand down the hull, carefully mask the deck and superstructure and spray the hull rather than brush. The Mr Color Navy is a lovely color and looks OK brushed but just about OK. I will thin it down and respray and mask and spray the grey. Just the hull mind you.

Gary I just run a paint brush down the line with what ever colour. Looks good as it becomes a bit varigated
& looks authentic rather than one solid colour.

Do as Laurie suggests. I would do a sort of darkish grey. Your choice, but certainly not black......
