Revell 1/72 flower class corvette uss saucy

I couldn't wait to get started and it's been 10 years since I last built one and I have forgotten how big it is.
So on with the build the main thing is the decals look to be shot so if anyone knows where I can find some replacements it would be most appreciated.
The first thing I done is to construct the four Hull pieces before joining them up. Click image for larger version

Always a good day when a Corvette gets built on here.
One day I will have to dig out bluebell and see how bad the damage is...

Revell are pretty good for spares of catalogue models - although their customer service web page is down for maintenance until 24/11. Usually it leads you to an online request form - I've used them in the past, and been happy with the service

I now have the four Hull pieces together with the internal bracing fitted
I also have fitted the four bilge keel pieces and now it's ready for first coat of paint. Click image for larger version

Peter, the last time I ever used large paper clips was for my USS Constipation...that was easily 15 years ago and it's still not finished hence the re-name from USS Constitution.
Nice and big kit and looks like a good progress. A friend built one of these and he had to replace quite a lot of the detail for the bridge and guns.

                Cheers,
                Richard

Internal deck supports have been fitted and I have given a good coat of paint and dazzle camouflage and tried some rust streaks on the portholes but I don't know how convincing they look Click image for larger version

Looking good despite the four legged friend.
