Sorry to hear about the problems with your hands. Just had a catch up and as the the other shave said, that really is a brilliant job. Looking forward to the finishing touches.

        Very well done indeed.

HMS Hood Hachette / Amati 1/200 The home stretch
So I’ve now done the starboard rigging added all the lifeboats including the 2 davits at the rear midships touched up some painting and primed the propellers ready for their brass finish on that point I have heard to paint them gloss black 1st before the metallic is their anybody can vouch for this working
After this I have to assemble the jackstaff for the stern and add all the little gangways that go onto the side of the hull I haven’t done them yet cause inevitably they would get snapped off if done sooner rather than last and finally add the decals I:e waterline markings etc I think ones called the plimsole line at the bow and the 2 ensigns to be added to the rigging on the rear mast then I will call it finished
I can find no evidence of the word Hood being painted a different colour to the hull so I’ve left it as is

              Regards

              Colin

The black gloss does make the metal colours look more realistic as long as you dont put the metal on to heavy.

HMS Hood 1/200 Hachette / Amati final parts
Well we have now reached the final last 14 parts of this build namely 4 propeller blades 1 jackstaff made up of 4 pieces and the missing items I haven’t put on yet as they would probably get snapped off if I did so that was 4 gangplank entries and 2 sets of pulleys these have all now been added
By the time you get to read this post I will have already posted the completed build photos into the completed ships section thank you for following and all your comments they are very much appreciated

                          Regards
