Just realised that I could have left the moulded reels in place and tried to cover them, never mind good practice!

Love it, love it, love it!!!!

Work has been insane the last month, so not much time for the forum, meaning I got behind on this.

It's coming on very nicely indeed!!!

Only ever built two floaty things in my youf..... The Airfix Belfast and a British WW2 air sea rescue patrol boat of some sort..... The thought of doing anything this big would give me nightmares!!!

          Keep up the great work.

Wow, cheers Andrew, chq in post!

My ship building is improving at last, go on have another go at a floaty thing!

One thing I was slow to understand is this, you must build a ship as a series of separate builds. On KGV just the rear superstructure is made of many parts, at different levels and importantly colours!

But it's a big beast lol

Right the lump of a Hull is in Mr surfacer black primer, however it would not fit in my large booth so.

After trying all sorts of ideas to make a spray booth extension, cardboard box, various cut up plastic storage boxes, no good and of course no extraction, so bit the bullet and bought the smaller version of my large booth, with light and cobbled them together.

Pleased with finish, however some of the faint details on the hatches has gone, bugger! Next grey bum!

                        Hi Chris

Pleased so far l, but first bash at enamels next!

Not a bulbous bow but I think a attachment for mine sweeping paravanes I think? James at Sovereign has carried out a lot of research and found that Hood as well as KGV had grey bums, the colours I bought from him are from what I have read very accurate.

Yes wooden deck, will use the lifecolor deck paints to try to paint it correctly

That'll teach to build an HUMONGOUS ship. Looks nice in primer though.

Looking very nice. Pity the primer ate the details a bit. Things that are PE heavy, I tend to use Alclad primers, bight well and are very thin.
