Thanks for the great comments boys. It all makes the building and painting of this kit worth while.

Although I wrote at the start, this is a 'Quicky', I was of course referring to this very short, hardly any build pictures, thread. Not how long it took to put the thing together - I'd rather not write that detail!

        A big P.S.
I was that engrossed with the camo. painting, I forgot to do the alterations turning Bismarck into Tirpitz until the painting was well underway, so here's a few pictures showing the basic and obvious changes needed.
Bismarck's cranes were on the main deck. Tirpitz had hers on the superstructure. Her A.A. guns in the same area were also moved. There were other alterations, but not worth doing. So I just worked on these two obvious ones.
        Here's the pictures.

The different crane and gun positions. Not spot on, but near enough for me.

Airfix 1/600 Bismarck becomes 'Tirpitz'....New crane position. Not dead on, but near enough.

I was wondering how Bismarck was going to "disappear"! Nicely done Ron.

I had the same problem some years ago. Bought myself a camouflage jacket, got home and put it down somewhere and I've never seen it since!

Amazing paint scheme to see on a ship. Great work again Ron!

Ron you are a brave chap.
Not only for carving that ship from a few blobs of solid plastic, only to cut the bottom off with a circular saw, much to Chris's dismay. You then proceeded to paint it in the most spectacular camo ever.
                    Nice doesn't come close.
                    Genial?

Chaps, thanks ever so much for all the humorous and nice posts. Every one is well received and much appreciated.

The blame for this extraordinary and genuine camouflage rests fair and square with Ian M. Like many folk, I didn't know it existed.....Until he pointed it out.
So Ian, thanks a bundle for putting me through the torture of the build and the eye boggling painting of the thing.

                        Revenge is sweet!
