Interesting……I know the next change is about 300,000 years overdue. It usually happens every half a million years or so. But when it does it usually takes around 10,000 years to stabilise….seems a bit quick this time!Comment

You do know that actually happens don’t you Chris….periodically the earth’s magnetic field, generated by the nickel/iron core, reverses so South becomes North and North becomes South…..be a laugh when it happens next though, us Southern softies will become Northern softies….and Northerners will have to become Southerners….Comment

Actually, that’s a good point….I’ve no idea what happens to east and west…..I wonder if they swap or not? Not only that, I live in North Brewham, does that mean we have to swap names with South Brewham……the possibilities for confusion are endless…..Comment

Found it….read this Chris….the solid core is not in reverse, just not quite revolving as fast as the outer earth…..typical reporters sensationalising poorly understood science .

STILL waiting for deliveries, man this is doing my head in.
I have managed to do a couple of small things in the interim just to keep the mojo going, which is becoming harder by the day.
I cut out some legs for the life raft containers, attached them and painted, as well as a start on the torpedo launchers. Also attempting to make the harpoon launcher tubes from wooden dowel, but the dowel is perhaps not the best material to use, and it all looks very rough, so I am trying to think of another type of rod to use. Unfortunately options are pretty limited down here at the bottom of the world, so I will try to just clean up the wood with filler.
