My old 1/144 HMS Snowberry suffered some damage in a house move a few years ago so I decided to have a break from my 1/700 build to do some remedial and upgrade work. The kit was originally built out of the box with just a straight paint job along with a really crappy rigging job, so I am embarking on an upgrade and looking at maybe weathering it. First job, dismount from its stand, removal of all crap rigging and removal of many of the deck rail stanchions (these and the mast were the major casualties).
I am replacing the plastic foredeck stanchions with brass and using the same for the rails as I could not find any suitable gauge thread, in fact I might replace quite a bit of the plastic rods with brass to try and get a better scale appearance.

just noticed as I posted these, the anchor chains will have to go for certain!!!!
