Smothered the base with liquitex. Toooooo shiny, will use a satin varnish to see what that looks like. Some work on the ‘Walrus’ too.Click image for larger version

            HELP PLEASE
these just arrived from Black Cat, (1/350 figures for my Warspite), they look sooooo small and fragile.
How do I get these off the fret without breaking them? Anyone had previous experience?
            How do I paint them!!!!!?
Might have bitten off more than I can chew here!

Yup, I think the ‘survival rate’ for these figures may be very low

Don’t know how clearly this pic shows the ‘Heath Robinson’ blobs of blue tack holding the various rigging threads out of the way.
no way you can let these strands lie loose, they just attract each other and turn into ‘thread spagetti’.Click image for larger version

Saw through the sprue underneath their feet with a fine-toothed modeller’s saw.

Before taking them from the sprue At least, I think I would paint their main colour before doing that, then paint details like faces when they’re loose.

How are you attaching the rigging? Spot of super glue or similar....

Yup, I am using the VMS ‘XT Thin’ And using my home made applicator - an old darning needle (blunted) mounted in a piec of sprue.Click image for larger version

Gently snapped this one off with tweezers, don’t think that will work where there are more than the two location points.Click image for larger version

It will work fine as long as the attachment points are weaker than the ankles slightly above them I wouldn’t try it with the sweepers, though, or the ones with supports under their hands.

                                Right.
That’s all of the rigging I am prepared to mess about with, especially as I can’t seem to find 2 references that are the same!!!!
She is now going into the base permanently so that I can finish the sea and look at how I deal with the crane and Walrus.
Just some weathering work on ships boats, then they can go on as well. Oh, and then the figures!!!!!!!!Click image for larger version
