An iconic ship. Looks like a great, long term build. Lots of aftermarket stuff. I'll enjoy seeing how you get on.
I have a 1/700 Hood in the stash. I bought a wood deck and a load of pe but now I'm afraid to start. Your build may encourage me to open the box.

She builds up nice but there are a few things that need "attending to" if you want a more accurate models. All the bits that need a look at are mentioned in the "older" Anatomy of the Battleship HMS Hood. the one by John Roberts.

Better find the big tea pot ready.

Thx Ian but I'm thinking if I can't do it all right i.e. the aft funnel (a lot of work) I'm just going to do an out of the box build as best I can do ..... been reading the hull was grey and not red ?

              Correct.
Latest info found was that the under water hull was grey.
There is a correction set for the funnels issue,

Started the long hull prep sanding seam lines and removing the moulded degaussing cable ready for the PE.

That looks like a huge challenge! Will take a deck chair if I may?

The nice man @ scalewarships has sent me the photoetch rear funnel cover and walkway free of charge :smiling3: so just need the resin part (sorted now) ordered fwd and aft funnels so they match

                              Also ordered
