Looked at the Tammy Kagero several times, and I still can't undersrand why this model costs roughly twice the price of the Tamiya 1/350

Only thing I can suggest for that bridge is old style filler (not acrylic). Build up the filler slowly then dress it back with a sanding stick to smooth out the step. Might have to replace that raised bit around the bridge with plastic rod though Bob, because you will lose some when cleaning up.
Thanks Tim, I have Tamiya filler, so will have a go. There's the top of the bridge to add yet, I have yet to fit the various bridge equipment such as binoculars on stands etc.

I agree, it's sister ship Yukikaze is about £58 plus. They are newer kits and very nicely moulded but, you can get the Hasegawa Yukikaze cheaper and the bridge structure is one piece so no awkward seams, well for me lol.
I find it strange that there's not a lot of IJN ships and the only makers are Japanese, Hasegawa and Fujimi I have bought a few of these but only because the UK stockist had a very good sale.
Cannot understand why Tamiya have apparently walked away from 1/350? A new tooled KGV would sell plus Prince of Wales etc.
Heard a story that the Chinese gov do not approve of Chinese companies doing IJN ships. Apparently Veryfire had a row when they did the armoured carrier Tahio? But Trumpeter did the monster Yamato. There's surely a market for the superb IJN heavy cruisers for one. Aoshima do them but hard to find.

Good choice Bob. Tamiya filler is the best of them in my opinion, pity it’s so hard to get over here. Sticks better than anything else I’ve tried and sands easily to a feather edge.

Cannot remember when I bought it? Used the deluxe materials one but I find it goes off far to easily in the nozzle and crumbles under standing.

Deluxe is great for cracks and fissures because it can be cleaned up so easily, leaving no residue. However, it’s rubbish for fine edges as you say. There is a use for both Bob, but the short shelf life of the deluxe materials filler can be an issue.
Well folks, not a regular anymore but I am still glueing plastic in between hospital visits and preparing to empty mums house ( 160 odd visits to date I think,)
Fletcher is on hold as I need to practice my brush skills, or lack of them. So back to Kagero and finished the bridge.
It seems the seams on the corners of the bridge were there on the actual ships. So glad about that! Tells me I must do more research
It had a enclosed bridge and Tamiya provide clear plastic for the windows. So wil have to carefully mask the clear plastic and try to paint the window frames by hand. That will be fun lol
Next up a Trumpeter German destroyer, paint just arrived from John
