The turret detail is very good and adding the covers over the range finders on two of the turrets was fiddly with cleaning up fun. So did the cleaning over a plastic box which did a good job of stopping them from escaping!

You may have noticed the seams on the curve of the bridge. Now I was planning to just do a no messing about build but that seam sure stands out, so might scrape seam and try filler

        Any opinions or suggestions

Oh! That one. I thought it was a panel detail LOL.
Yep. you might want to fil that. Sorry for not seeing that for what it was. I really thought that something else, a conduit or a vent of some kind would be placed there.

Could not build a ship to save my life, got two in the stash and they will be there 'till my bones turn to dust...
BUT, I do love to watch you guys turn plastic into masterpieces, and this will be another.

Not a problem Ian, sadly nothing covers it, bugger! Have made a small Starr

Made a start on that seam, was originally going to leave but it's a bit obvious and nothing covers it! So going to do it small stages, starting at the bottom on starboard

So using tape to protect the hand rail

Left to dry and made a start on the hull and decks, dry fitted and the fit looks OK. Surprised how big it's about 28cm! Going to be fiddly to assemble.

The box is to keep it all together lol
                    Mind you it looks impressive

Built the hull today and first fit issues. The hull is in two parts and has 7 internal bracing pieces, i fitted them nice and tight otherwise the decks would have large gaps around the edge! After fitting them I noticed that lower hull is not the best fit, so might need a bit of filler. On the plus side the decks fit well. Also drilled the hull to fit the kit supplied plastic pedestals, wish all kits came with these!

Seriously thinking of painting the decks before fitting. The middle section really has to be painted first, it contains the torpedo tubes but has another deck on top

Shame about the slight fit issue. Nothing you can't sort though. I like the idea of plastic pedestals being supplied. I've seen brass ones in use. The advantage of metal pedestals is their weight. Makes the model more stable.

Getting rid of that seam was definitely worth the effort.

Agree. Also choosing to repair the seams in section. Very cunning.
