    1/72 HMS Andromeda (circa. 1976)

So this is where my 5 year build is currently at. That old phrase "the devil is in the detail" is burnt into my mind...
I was on her 1976 (hence version) and have several photos and memories to help.
It's a Fleetscale hull, but scratch built superstructure, decks, etc.
This is my first ever build and have redone things as my learning curve progressed.
    Hopefully pictures appear
Made the liferaft support myself from square brass, along with yards.

That looks great. I can only imagine the hours and hours needed to get to this stage.

                Nice work Ray.
Batch One - Gun Leander I assume?
Seeing the Leander always reminds me of the recognition mantra - 'You can meander around a Leander'.

Very nice indeed Ray. I too would be interested in more pics and interior detail as well.

Yep...Andromeda was a batch 3 "wide beam" Leander.

I did some time on Scylla - F71, prior to 1980, (gun Leander, wide beam), I believe she was converted to Exocet in the 80's. Then 85 to 88 on F15 - Euryalus, Ikara Leander. (Preferred Tribals from a wafu's perspective)

Yeah, frigate alley in Guz was a crowded place in mid-70s.
Androm was peculier in that she was the only non-Ikara Leander with the type 669 Bexley jammer.
Had to scratchbuild that bit of kit at masthead.
I was a radio tiff..Androm was my sea training year so worked in every department - even lashing down the Wasp...

The unmodified Leanders had the best lines of any frigate ....................when they removed the turret & replaced it with Exocet & Seawolf, they may have been more effective, but ruined their looks.
