I have decided that I won't be using all of the masses of PE I purchased.
After several attempts to do some of the items and failing abysmally, I was getting so frustrated that it was spoiling any enjoyment.
I am just going to use the larger parts I can see & manage.
Carrying on with the conning tower build, I prepped the deck area for the PE additions.
Before fitting I tried the two 'CT' sides for fit etc., only to find that there was a little warpage and they didn't line up properly when attached to the decking.
The only way to overcome this was to clamp one side to the completed deck area, when this has set I will clamp the other side to this.
Not the way I wanted to go, but 'Hey Ho' !!!

Squeezed in a little modelling over the last couple of days.
Attached the other side of the conning tower, (very poor fit) then decided to jump in with some of the modifications for converting to a working model.
Drilled out the stern sections, to be able to make the cut-outs for the operating prop shafts.

Using the moulded all in one kit propshaft/A-frame for measuring purposes, I mocked up for correct shaft alignment using carbon tube of the same diameter of the shaft I would be finally using.
Having got one side aligned properly, and the hole through the bulkhead at the correct angle. I made a paper copy to transfer to the other side so it would be symmetrical.

Managed to get a bit of work done this week.
Having realised that a lot of the PE would not be seen when the tower/bridge area is assembled, have left quite a bit of it off.
Constructed some of the aerials/radars/periscopes and loosely attached them to the conning tower.
Drilled out the 'A' frame bosses to the same diameter as the prop shaft tubes.
Drilled out the prop shaft tunnels, unfortunately had my mini drill on the wrong speed and nearly melted the first one.
Using my (use for everything) blu-tac to temporarily hold in position before flooding with thick cyano and rocket filler.
I will leave the green stuff to harden over night before sanding back.

i have built this kit once already but as Ron mentioned earlier i needed another as the original dived itself from a high shelf.it builds into a great kit and you are doing a wonderful job. when i started mine i had two rear hull sections the same, they were both left hand sections and revell had no spares as the kit was out of production at the time, had to create a right hand side..your doing a lot more alterations than i ever di, sure it will be fantastic when finshed. my new one is still in the box. havn't started it yet Ron.Comment

Thanks for all of the positive comments.
I am actually enjoying this so far, and I don't intend to take as long with this build.
I must admit I was loosing interest in the Boote build as it dragged on too long.
Got a little work done this week on the prop/shaft/rudder
area, and what is going to be one of the removable deck areas.
I nearly destroyed one of the shaft tunnels, as I had my drill speed too high and it started to melt it
Initially I was going to drill out the grating areas instead of using the Eduard PE, but after about 25 I realised my hands are no longer as steady as they were, and I couldn't drill them uniformly.
Probably a good choice as there are approximately 300 holes to all the grating areas.
As this deck area & side plates will be removable it needed strengthening, and the grating area need removing for the placement of the PE.

Got a little more done this weekend.
Finished off ribbing the bow area.
Stern area kit grating removed, & ribs to support the Eduard PE in place.
Next job will be to remove the escape hatches etc., from the kit decking to be placed in the PE decking.
