    Hi Ron
A real breath of fresh air. Shows that great results can be had with more skill than expense. Fun blog, great banter. Glad that b****y parrot is no more :smiling5:
Sub is looking good as well.

Thanks to all for the suggestions for the build progress and perhaps more important, just what to do with 'Her'!!

The suggestion for an emergency surface is a good one, but I've already done a build on a similar theme earlier on here, so I would like to come up with something different if poss.
But thanks for the idea none the less......

I've decided to complete the whole boat and take it from there.......

      Moving on.
As I posted earlier there is one paint scheme that caught my eye and that's the one I'm going to have a go at. Although it's in the instructions as a suggested scheme it never was used on a Type 41 just on one particular VIIC U. Boat. It's a cracker and a challenge too.

Anyway here is a picture of the three brushes I used for the camouflage pattern.

I'll call it a 'Smudge and Flick.'
      Left to right..
      Putteroner, smudger and flickeroner.

Yes, I know, but they are all good friends and like good friends I know how they will behave.

Done with Vallejo Model Air. I put the white on first with the tatty flat headed brush and twisted it as I went to vary the width of the stripes. I then dabbed along the edge of the white with dark sea green with the middle brush to smudge the edges and finally and with much trepidation, I literally flicked some dark grey over the whole conning tower using the right hand brush.

Still to be weathered, but here's the result.

      Cheers all.

Thanks Ken. I'm chuffed you approve....:thumb2:

Whilst I had the brushes and paints out I camo'd the finished 37mm flak cannon.

Ian - If you look in the instruction booklet in your own 1/72 U. Boat kit box, you can't mistake it. That's all I had to go by I'm afraid.

                    Thanks all.

That's a very interesting technique. Huge bonus here, it looks fantastic! I can't wait to see it on the rest of the boat.
                      Cheers, Rick H.

                              Ah yes, the inferior one!.......:tongue-out3:

It looks like you get a crew with it? Me jealous!

Just for the record old lad, here's the paint scheme. With an apology to Rick H. As you can see Rick, the camo. is just on the conning tower and other small bits, so no all over I'm afraid...

Most impressed with the painting Skipper and the system. Nothing like an old friend is there, bit like picking up an old chisel.

I have news on Polly, he's just bought a Fairey Sword Fish , so keep a look out ! .
