    Thanks boys.

Dave, U. Boats and submarines are probably my favourite subject. - next to wrecking tanks!

The hull is now more or less finished.

Guard rails and safety wires fitted.
I like to fit these at this stage. All are easier to fix without the Conning Tower to contend with.....Eezeline used.

you can't have too many U-boote in here, glad to see another one built. And the fun part of this scale is that it builds fast. Looks great so far. I'm looking forward to see you do the crew and seascape!

        Cheers

          Thanks Steve and Wouter.

Wouter. You are quite right, they do build fast!

Conning tower built and painted. I've done the same camouflage I used on the big 1/72 version as I built on here a while ago.

The guard rails are obviously way too thick, but as I always try and build OOB, I've used them. They are about the size of my small finger nail. so impossible (For me anyway) to reduce down.
Once I have the crew standing about and paint a bit of camo. on them, they should hopefully blend in a bit better.

Painted with a cocktail stick and a safety pin.

            Hi Ron
Excellent progress. Painstaking, fiddly work especially at this scale.

Thanks for the positive posts, boys.

Started adding some lookouts. Black oilies will be worn.

I know not how you manage it as I sometimes struggle with 1/35 stuff. Looks brilliant mate, you have my respect.

Ian and Andy. Thank you for the kind words.

The rigging is complete and the boat is finished. I used eezeline glued with UHU G.P. glue. No underwater gear fitted as it obviously won't be seen.

The crew are mustered, so time to get out to sea and on patrol.

                            Cheers.

Thinking of being out on the Atlantic in that "cigar tube" of a boat, reminds me of the scene in "Das Boot" when the old man and Thomsan on the other boat are having words through the megaphone, as alternately, each boat dips below the waves and all but disappears from sight.........would be an interesting thing to try and duplicate 570........Watching from the next bed over, patient 358.

Would I ever let a 'Colonial' Down, 358?

Such a diorama is on the chocks and well advanced.
