Torpedo colour? struggling to find a colour picture the only one is on the museum boat and it's a metallic blue. I really don't think they painted there torpedo's just greased them before loading, but for my model I would like to do some colour!!

Torpedos had unpainted steel bodies, the 'warhead' was often bronze, or a copper alloy. propeller Brass as where the moving part of the fins.
The only ones with coloured heads where training torpedoes that had a bright colour so they could be recovered again. The colour would be different vessel to vessel so you could not say mine was the closest and you got your ones back.Comment

Hi, decided to change it up I have been watching Das Boot and a couple of documentaries and noticed the deckhead, bulkhead were painted an off white and not grey as depicted in the manual also when I was serving albeit not on a sub the same was true. so my deckheads and bulkheads will be LP-39 throughout the boat
