    Figure World North 2023

I've just arrived at Figure World North 2023, at the Galtres Centre, Easingwold. I've submitted four entries to the competition (something I said I'd never do!) and I've just had to come out for a coffee and a lie down - the quality of entries is awesome.

At first glance the show looks significantly larger than I expected - will I be able to resist spending? I seriously doubt it!

      I'm already £50 poorer!

I won't take a lot of pictures, but I can tell you the standard is sky-high. For example, the freehand on this, and the expressiveness of the face is fabulous - perfectly rendered, just like a Greek icon.

That is excellent. Really don’t know how anyone freehand paints like that. I certainly can’t!

I've got to show you these 90mm(?) commedia dell'arte flat figures. Right up my street, and phenomenally well painted.

Those are fabulous. Flats are an art form all their own aren’t they…..

Aren't they just! And they're an art form I'm going to have to try my hand at. I've found a specialist dealer called Berliner Zinnfiguren...

One of the best known I think. I have thought about flats for years….never taken the plunge though. The British flat figure society has a lot of links on its web site Paul.
                    See here…

No gongs for my entries - no surprise, the standard was awesome.

                      Here's my haul:

That just one pic alone is fantastic. Would love to see any others you may have taken at the show Paul. If you're interested in figures and fantasy stuff, pop over to the Malaysian International Miniature Hobby Show page I just posted. Lots of pictures...don't look too closely or you'll see drool on the displays. Most of us had our tongues hanging out.:tears-of-joy:

                        Cheers,
