Okay then. Firstly an apology to Mr T. Didn't realise you were asking about the Alien spaceship as I didnt know that was what it was called. So for you and Neil this is what the modeller told me. The day before shooting at the studio Scott Ridley came into the model room and saw the spaceship and broke it up saying that he was not happy with it and told the modellers to get another one done before shooting the following day. So the modellers came up with the version that you now see at the beginning of the film. The model at the show is based on the original designs and is completely scratch built. It took eight years to complete. He started from the front R/H corner and worked his way across. The model is made up with odds and ends from electrical equipment. If you save the photo and zoom in you will see transistors, capacitors, nuts and bolts etc. It was certainly a labour of love and a joy to behold. If he takes it to the Plymouth show I will take some close ups for you.

a brilliant story-imagine having to do your best mogelling work through the night under that kind of pressure!
I'm sure I heard there are Tiger tank road wheels on the original somewhere.
