    Ah, that's what confused me. I've been looking at Whippets, and that looked very similar, just the marking threw me. Thanks.

      It's a whippet captured and used by the Germans in WW1 - Ignorance is when you do not ask, but assume you know the answer.

                      Hi Peter you're quite right Bovington is 1.5 hurs by road,, if you want to go by train it's nearly 6 hours so I have to get the Minister Of War to take me as I don't drive it just impacts on my spending which is no bad thing.

                        160 miles/3 1/2 hours from me. Should have gone while I was working and could claim the mileage, but never managed to arrange a meeting close by! Yeovilton (FAA Museum) is about the same.

                            maybe they are some captured early German version.... I believe the third handle came at a bit later date.. But dont quote me on it. I just know that they existed...
