HI Allen these are wonderfull pics of the USS CARL VINSON CVN 70 an ive been studyin them close up over the days an it brings back wonderfull memoryies of when I built my USS NIMITZ CVN 68 ive really enjoyed lookin at these pics it was very kind of you to remember me when you took these pics but a question please on the left side of the flight deck is that just a name card ?
but wonderfull pics an were there any other workin features on her eg. like workin radars or freshnel landin system or such an did she have 4 props on her as some times ive seen moddellers fit only two props as its easyier an I see she got a few bridge lights fitted an the hornet engins lit up but a wonderfull model
          all the same
all best to you sir ps id be greatfull if you can answer my qeustions

Hi everyone, You are all very welcome as I am happy to post pictures from a show. It is a real inspiration to see what others build and their ideas too. I still have 450+ pics from Holland last October if anybody has an interest in seeing them...….

Dude 2 - Glad you liked the pines John. The crane is the Strabo from Takom and the yellow truck with the trailer is from Das Werk (Faun 900 with 15 ton trailer) and the GAZ re-fueler tanker from Miniart...

Monica - Happy to oblige anytime. There were a couple of clubs with more figures on the table, but the little areas where they were set up were very tight and crowded. I couldn't get in for any photos...

Rick - I can fully understand that my friend. Peace and quiet are also good for the soul. I never had any shows in upstate New York either growing up. I had to buy scale model mags to keep up on things and use mail order to get kits from The Squadron in Michigan. I'll do my best for pics at any show I attend...

Stevie - No worries my friend and I hope all is well with you guys. The show is "klein aber fein" or "small but fine". I had hoped that there would have been a few more vendors though...

Tony - You're most welcome Sir. Wait till I get back from the World Expo in July! You have been warned...

Richard - Anytime Buddy. I hope you and the family are well over there. It must be a huge undertaking to build a flat top in 1/144 and expensive too. So what are you building with the elevator??? The music???...I'll get me coat now...

Chris - The sign on the flight deck is a very common one at shows. It says "Bitte Nicht Berühren" which translates to "Please Don't Touch" in English or "Keep Your Mitts Off My Model" in English slang. When I took the pics, I didn't see anything else moving or lit up on her other than the jet. There is an elevator in front of the tower, but I can't say if it works or not. You can see the plate on the deck with the 4 screws that is the access for the electronics I think, but I'm no expert. Wish I could be of more help...

Jim - This was my favorite too!!! I could slap myself for not taking a few more pics of it. The work was so fantastic and detailed with such an idea. The lights were icing on the cake too. I bet it took quite a while to build the buildings and the whole scene...Maybe years...

Ok, I have been goofing off too much. It's time to get back to the table and get cracking on the GB builds again!!!!!!!!!!!

              Prost

OK Allen many thanks for the info an yes it is a huge under takin that Richard an his friends are doin building a Nimitz as I found out building my Nimitz all 7 yrs of it an as its big as well an yes I supect you are right about that plate on the deck to get to the electronics as you must have some form of access but I dint use srews on my Nimitz access panels but tiny magnets where I would go a lot an screws where you only go once in a blue moon an you have been a very great help Allen by thinkin of us guys an postin the pics many thanks an yes I would love to see your 450 pics from Holland as I have not been to a model show for ages an to see others work on whatever is a treat for me an I hope also for the other guys PS Allen could you please post a nice big pic of the bridge area as ive been tryin to zoom in on the pic but still cant make the detail cheers oh an thanks for tellin me about the sign on the flightdeck an I had two on my NIMITZ with the NIMITZ badges clipped on the ship at the bow end an one at the stern end at a show at black park but some rotter when an pinched one when I was talkin to the public about the model as these badges were specialy made for the ship as a friend got them for me as a launchin present but well that the people always one bad apple isn't there

Ok Chris and Rick, I guess I could do it, but it will have to be in the format I used above as it will take a heck of a long time to post them all. You can only post 20 pics in a post and I will need about 23 posts for them. I can't do them tonight, but I could start tomorrow afternoon after work. Just bear with me on this......

Dang Chris, I did forget to post the large pic of the tower, so here it is. Must be my Alzheimers again...…….

YEA Pete that why on my Nimitz I used mostly mini magnats fitted under the deck an my screws were counter sunk to be level with the deck an as they were philps screws i made them look like aircraft tie downs

I don't think it was fully down Chris, and the removable panel doesn't look level with the deck. Maybe some last-minute tweaks were needed.
