Beautiful dio but, rocket camo totally wrong. All tactical V2 unit rockets from the factory were olive to dark green in camo color. Camo schemes and the B/W scheme were only used at testing facilities. Krupp Prötze truck was never a vehicle used in a V2 unit.

This one is ok as it depicts one of the 3 launches made after the war in Cuxhaven, by the British (Operation Backfire),

Here again, wrong camo...The Magirus ladder is iffy in a tactical unit. Mostly used at testing centers and the generator was not used at tactical launch sites for power. They were used at the railhead to power the Strabokran and the prep site to power the crane also. The Steyr 2000 (Fz 105) was used to do the power checks before the launch and for the launch itself........

Sorry, but I am a bit of a V2 nerd and not a snob of any sort. Research is the key to a correct diorama. Thank you all for your patience during the long posting times and I truly hope the pics will give you inspiration at the bench! Enjoy!!!............Now the museum pics........

    Prost

        Hi Allen
I've been going through your excellent photos since early this morning. Thanks for taking the time to share them. It looks to have been a wonderful show. The thing that struck me was the outstanding quality of many of the dios. A huge amount of time and skill went into them.

You're very welcome Ian! It was fantastic and sorry, but I have a tick for the V2 and it's details. It's funny what a little research can do when making a dio. In our German model magazine a while back was a beautifully done dio of a rest break after a battle in the Ardennes in January 1945. A panther G and 8 or 9 troops taking a break. Exquisite figure painting, scenery and snow on the ground. Absolutely perfect. The Panther G was also excellently finished and detailed in a worn off winter camo. After looking at it for 15 seconds, I realized that Hitler had invented a time machine back then. How could a Panther G, built in the beginning of March 1945 and not even approved by the weapons department, fight in the Battle of the Bulge in January 1945??? Had to be a time machine or an episode of The Twilight Zone I think....
                      Sorry, gone crazy again...........

That was some mistake to make. Even I know to check that the things being put together existed together in the real world. Mind you the way history is (not) being taught these days, in 20 years time Buzz lightyear would have been the first person on the moon.

Many thanks for taking the time to take and post all these photos. I have seen several photos and videos of the show over the last few days. It is clearly the best scale model show ever! The standard of models and imagination is second to none. A real inspiration to push the boundaries and get back to the bench.
