I got back from two days at this show about an hour and a half ago, and now having had dinner and sorted through the pictures I took a bit, I’ll fulfill the request to:

I just noticed that the woman all the way on the left is pointing to one of my models of vehicles used in the Walcheren campaign, which probably aren’t unknown to regulars here

More RC trucks at another stand. The bridge is a replica (within the usual capabilities of RC modellers, anyway ) of the Erasmus Bridge in Rotterdam, nicknamed “The Swan”:

A fictional version of the port of Rotterdam, almost entirely from paper models, both purchased and entirely scratchbuilt (I spent a fair while talking to the man who made them, and he said he had several times this still at home):

These were all so small I asked the chap behind the stand to point at something, for scale Oh, and in case anyone here likes paper modelling, he mentioned to someone else that Canon (the printer/copier/camera manufacturer) has a lot of downloadable paper models. This is one of the people at our TWENOT stand, who spent much of the time airbrushing his 1:72 scale what-if Maus anti-aircraft tank.

On to the second hall, which was mostly BIG boats and big RC, plus about half the hall was Lego (though I’m not going to post the photos I took of that).

The statue here is topical, since the show is held in the province of Zeeland, and the statue is a model of a real one of Michiel de Ruyter — it’s not wide off the mark to say that what Nelson is to the UK, De Ruyter is to the Netherlands. But why they put the flag upside down in front of him is anyone’s guess …

It looks like the Ship and boat builders have a good grip i the Netherlands! Some super models! That guy looking at the unfinished but huge boat! His face just says bugger its bigger than mine! lol.
A good spread of Scale military as well. Your club/group stand looked nice and busy.

Thankfully, I was on the wrong side of the iPad to appear in these photos

It looks like the Ship and boat builders have a good grip i the Netherlands!

We do kind of have a maritime tradition, after all A good quarter or more of this show is always devoted to ships like these. You hardly see any, say, 1:700 or 1:350 scale ones — pretty much everything ship-related is either big enough to be RC, or traditional-style wooden models of Golden Age sailing ships, which are never small either.

That guy looking at the unfinished but huge boat! His face just says bugger its bigger than mine! lol.

I only noticed him when looking through the pictures last night, but yes, I was lucky to capture him looking at the model That thing was huge (as if that isn’t obvious), and apparently made mostly from copper plate and rod. I don’t know how the hull was made, looks like it might be fibreglass, but the whole superstructure is soldered copper.

A good spread of Scale military as well. Your club/group stand looked nice and busy.

It was smaller than usual (we only got invited less than three weeks ago, because someone else dropped out, so we had to make do with what was there, and with fewer people than in other years) but we had a good amount of interest in what we were doing, and how. Some of those questions make you wonder why these people are at a model show at all, though (For example: I’m using a spatula to apply putty to parts of the Nike Hercules kit I bought. A man looking on asks, “What are you doing there?”)

Plus, of course, with military models you get people asking about the vehicles they operated during their national service, and that quickly leads to stories of the antics they got up to back then

Thanks Though most of the large ships there seem to have been civilian ones, I couldn’t help thinking of the kind of stuff you build when I was walking around that part of the show.

Wow, that's quite a show. Amazing work on display. I noticed 1/87 has a foothold there.

Mostly in model railways, though. There always used to be a stand from Artitec but I didn’t see it this year. Then again, the whole show feels like it was meant as a bit of a new beginning from the previous editions, with nothing in the places where it always used to be, so maybe they didn’t give them any space this year.

Pretty much, yes. Whether you like static models or radio-controlled; ships, planes, tanks, cars, SF, or doll’s houses; you can probably find something to interest you. OTOH, it’s not a show I would recommend travelling to from far away, unless you also have something else to do around here. It just doesn’t have enough to offer to make a dedicated journey to it, IMHO.

Those fans were powerful enough that when I was at the far end of the pool (first picture, where you’re looking into the hall) I could definitely feel the wind coming off them. That sailboat race also had a running commentary from a chap standing at the “fan” end of the pool with a microphone.
