Yeah. It was good to have a catch up. I checked with the guys on the door 'cos last time I went there were two rooms instead of just one. Apparently the organisers thought it was too expensive to hire the second room just for the limited numbers of competition entries they had last time.

There were also quite a few empty club tables in the main room where the clubs hadn't turned up.

It's at this point I normally show pics of the kits I bought at the show. Hold on to your hats folks - I didn't buy any! Maybe my 'Stashitis' is finally healing after buying waaayyy too many kits over the years. I just didn't fancy anything on offer, but one dealer managed to sell a 1/35 Dora railway gun (I assume he sold it as I saw it in the morning and it wasn't there at lunch time), so he must have been fairly happy. I only got some odds and sods of tools and they were mainly for PJ.

There is a show at the Coventry Air Museum later this year. I've been before and although it's good, it's not particularly big. This show is advertised as a mini show so I'll have to have a think about it.

Forgot to take a proper camera so just took one general view with the 'phone, from the balcony, but the phone has eaten it so I can't show you!

I don't remember the show being in 2 rooms last time Dave, but I agree it was fairly quiet and there were quite a few empty tables even though there were fewer aisles than last time. Still no spaces in the car park though!

I saw a couple of plastic kits of the Dora, but there was a Dora kit in a box about the size of my desk, that I saw one of the guys from a club stand dragging to his stand - someone I was chatting to at the time said it was an all-metal kit at well over £400. I didn't get a chance to speak to the buyer.

When is that show in Coventry Dave? It doesn't show on their website, which hasn't been updated for a while but states there are no upcoming events.

That Dora kit has a label on the box saying that a company called All Metal is somehow involved in its manufacture - not that the kit is made from metal. I know 'cos the box for my kit is identical. (The one on the table was the 1/72 HobbyBoss version). If the buyer got it for £400, then he got a real bargain! I paid about £450 for mine several years ago and since it's now out of production I'd expect to see the prices rising. I was really disappointed when the company stopped as they had a 1/144 Bismarck in progress. I saw a picture of their test kit on a German model show website and it looked really impressive. Wonder what happened to the moulds?

Here's the link to that Coventry show I found on the IPMS site:

Oh, thanks Dave. Must have missed that when I searched the IPMS site. I'll try to remember that date (and to take a camera for Rick).
