For those of you who do not get Airfix news you might find this interesting:

A 1/48th Defiant and a 1/48th Meteor both look very interesting as well. I like the engine with the Meteor.

Why aren't airfix doing any armour ?

It seems like all they care about is wings , I thought they'd turned a corner when they did the afghan stuff but now it's like they don't want to know

Is there any truth behind the rumour of a 1/24 scale Lancaster?

I doubt that Paul , I've seen a 1/24 RC lanc and its huge , wing span is easily 4 feet

I think I read some place that for every armour kit that is sold, there are 5 aircraft kits. They are simply going where the money is.

If there new aircraft are as good as the last couple I say just keep em coming

I would agree it's purely a business move, I have been to the Hornby centre/museum a few times now as it is local to my parents house and planes are the first things that hit you through the door... Not literally you understand

Have seen the defiant and it looks good, that meteor though... Fingers crossed it will be a cracker. Don't let us down airfix!

Not good business though to put all your eggs in one basket, if the demographic changes you could be left behind its always wise to give a variety

I agree Alan but they are obviously playing to their strengths and have marketing guys studying trends I would have thought.

I haven't tempted any armour as yet but would love to once I get my skills nailed a little more, but and I don't know why, I wouldn't go to airfix for my first piece of armour.

Oh yeah you're right I'm not really complaining just wondered why they haven't bothered as there is a market for them

If you want to try your hand at a bit of armour I'd go for academy their reasonably priced and turn out looking good and armours easier than aircraft as to make it look good just cover it in mud

excellent service. Ive left stuff under the BBQ and they come collect it, post a note thru the door and its with the customer in a couple of days all tracked. nice one.
