Yes there is, but not from Airfix. Hong Kong models have been promising one for some time now. This is their latest web page.

Steve, that's a 1/32nd Lanc from HK models. I think a 1/24th would be pushing it a bit, bearing in mind the size of the Airfix 1/24th Mossie.

Quite so Richard....got me 24s and 32s muddled up. A 1/24 Lancaster would have a wingspan of about 4'4" !

It's not really though is it! Credit to them for investing in research and new tooling. Some of the stuff for next year is actually quite exciting for those of us interested in the genre. Fair enough Roy they might not produce anything that interests you but there are plenty of manufacturers who cater for cars and armour. It gets a bit boring hearing people bashing Airfix for concentrating on aircraft, the clue is in the name after all!

It's horses for courses Roy. From my point of view Airfix are producing models that really appeal to me and I just can't get enough of them. On the flip side, I also dabble with OO model railways but Hornby (and other makers) just aren't producing model railway loco's and rolling stock that I either want but more importantly afford so I think I understand your point of view. What I see from Airfix is well researched, appealing and quality models at affordable prices.
On the bench: Airfix 1/48 Sea King HC4, Revell 1/24 Trabant.
Coming soon: Airfix 1/72 Phantom FGR2.
Just finished: Airfix 1/48 Stuka & Airfix 1/72 Sea King HC4.

Actually, the name has nothing whatever to do with aircraft.

It was chosen for two reasons:

AIR was used in the manufacturing process, and Mr. Kove (the founder) wanted a name beginning with 'A' to get it at the top of directory listings.

                  So, my Morse code stands.

                      no worries.

Each to their own. It would be dull if we all liked the same things.

I personally find anything with wings (aircraft) about as interesting as a political speech... (Nice Spitfire though...)

When I read that Airfix lidar scanned an HC4 at Fleetlands I was right that they wouldn't also have scanned a HAR3/3A whilst there given that they are being retired. There's another must have kit.
