Oh poo! I was hoping that they'd do the Meteor in 1/24 - not fiddly, tiny 1.48!!

So, Airfix make a Valiant and now a Victor. Surely it's time for an update to the Vulcan.

A 1/48th Defiant and a 1/48th Meteor both look very interesting as well. I like the engine with the Meteor.
          Hi Richard

I got my order in for the upcoming 1/48 Defiant from Airfix. It says it's supposed to be out early Feb 16. I was looking also at the Shackleton but think that prices may be high

You can now pre-order all the 2016 releases, some of which are pretty amazing and well worth a look.

I don't think the prices are unreasonable to be honest. Some of the Hasegawa 1/72 kits are extortionate in comparison. If you consider what you get for your pennies from Airfix - accurate moulds, variety in paint schemes and high quality decals. I know that that they won't satisfy every model genre or every modeller but I think that Airfix occupy a place in the market that suits them and they do it well.

We will just have to be satisfied with the HK Models 1/32 Lancaster when its released. Me, I will hold off for their 1/32 HP Halifax and maybe B24 (fingers crossed....)

As much as I like Airfix, before you buy their Shack, have a look at the Revell new tool offering. The surface detail is really nice.

I will look at the Revell offering Colin, are the panel lines any better ( also are the decals better than Airfix as previous i have found although in registry sometimes they can be on the ( wrong scale so have to purchase xrra decal for correct matches and sometimes Airfix can be on the thick side too.

I will in part agree with you in that Airfix do very good kits as of from their previous offerings. I have their valiant and wanted to do the 3 famous V bombers but I purchased their Vulcan at the same time and can see me spending a lot of money to get it right.the Vulcan will have to wait, I do think that Airfix should re tool their Vulcan and also Victor as both these kits could do with a refresh and more accurate detail offered.

Airfix decals I agree have come a long way from years ago but some kits I have found decals to be thicker than others ( possible olde kits ). I found on their retooling of 1/72 defiant them decals were a bit thick for my liking. Yes this is personal choice but it does seem that Airfix are going in the right direction.

Please please please Airfix do a retool of your Vulcan and Victor!!!! o_Oo_Oo_O
