    The railway section

    Hello again.

I have had a look in the railways section and have split it into a few more bits.

There is now an under construction and a completed section for loco's and rolling stock as well as a section for layouts.

If you have a build in the main section (ie the original one) can you try to move them to their new homes.

Also a question. Should there be a section for buildings, houses etc. in here or perhaps a whole separate section for civilian buildings...

Maybe you could have a section for buildings & line side - buildings, infrastructure (tunnels and bridges etc). I would suggest leaving the layouts under construction section as it is to cover the subject from baseboard, track laying, electrics, ballast and scenery construction.
On the bench: Airfix 1/48 Sea King HC4, Revell 1/24 Trabant.
Coming soon: Airfix 1/72 Phantom FGR2.
Just finished: Airfix 1/48 Stuka & Airfix 1/72 Sea King HC4.

Rick, how about I make a subsection under the layout forum for all types of buildings, be they houses, factories, bridges or the such. I get the idea that the actual baseboard and rails and all that one place, and the buildings in an other would keep it separated but still together if you see what I mean....

I think that looks okay Ian. This genre doesn't have a massive following on this website so keeping the sections concise will be useful I think. Three basic sections are a good start point; 1. The baseboard - track, ballast, electrics/control and signals. 2. Rolling stock. 3. Buildings & Lineside - houses, factories, scenery, roads, depots etc.

There is overlap in 1 & 2 but when building a model railway baseboards, track, electrics and ballasting are usually done before any buildings are installed.
