You’d hope for the crew that there was a firewall around the engine, but it looks like there wasn’t.

Dave, the rockets are a damn sight better than the ones I had from the old Italeri Katyusha. :smiling6:

Jakko, probably for instant heating during winter...:smiling6:

            Cheers,
            Richard

Looks good, nicely detailed and really shows the agricultural nature of that tank....only one seat as well, the crew must either sit outside or sit on the floor...real luxury...

                Jakko,
I think crew safety came well down on the Soviet 'must have' list!

I dunno Dave, they’ve got a fire extinguisher, what more do they want....OK, they may have to lean over the burning engine to reach it, but it’s there!

If you're interested - you can download the instructions from the MiniArt website * BM-8-24*
I like to look at the instructions, if I'm considering a purchase. It works both ways - some I've thought 'must have', and others 'no way!', just on looking at the layout. All part of my fun, when extending the stash!

Is that the air filter way up in front with its own pipe?

                      Cheers,

Sure is Richard! You have to give the engine that "fresh air" feeling to operate efficiently. I also take it that the empty space in the rear left is for the fuel tank...

                        Prost

To really help things along - it is a petrol engine! unlike the larger tanks, which were diesel, this must have been a real problem - there were 2 fire extinguishers, one either side. ( AND a fold down seat for another lucky crew member )

The normal version had a turret, so that probably had a built-in seat for the vehicle commander/gunner.

This does look to me like a model of a propaganda poster! Very dramatic/romantic.

....................and on the ICM website, 'in process'

The ICM softskins are very good models - a little care is needed on assembly, until now, only German & Soviet vehicles, I'm sure this will be popular.......................

Late version....................... Neither of the Su-122-54s are interior kits - I wonder why?
