Hardly 'New', but confirmation, and what has happened to the moulds
      From the US modelmaking press.............
      Revell sold to Blitz
"The bankruptcy of Hobbico has led to Revell’s assets being bought by a German investment group, listed in court documents as Blitz 18-313. It is based near Munich. Blitz also bought Hobbico Germany. The sale was approved by a U.S. bankruptcy court Friday, April 13, 2018. Sale price was $3.9million with several contingencies that could raise or lower the sum. Hobbico, based in Illinois, had owned Revell and was forced to sell it due to its bankruptcy. Revell Germany will continue to operate as in the past, with Blitz being its owner. However, Revell USA operations have been closed. Court documents say the sale included all molds and tooling owned by Revell USA, so those now belong to Revell Germany.
It also included Revell trademarks, such as Revell in various forms, Snap Tite, Junior Kit,
Renwal, Monogram, Pro Modeler, Revell-Monogram, Red Baron, Ice T, and many more."

On the MiniArt Facebook page pictures of an assembled 1/35 'Ball Tank'

I don't mind fantasy models - but this is a little bit OTT - No prices, as yet, but given a 'full interior' I don't think it will be cheap. ( No, it's not April 1st. ). I really hope MiniArt have done their market research for this.................

Typical of MiniArt to have such hidden detailing, I suppose they will sell. Can you see it being a success ? or deleted from the catalogue in a year.
Personally I don't like these what ifs fantasy models, there's enough real one to build. :nerd:

I'm no expert on people's fancies, I thought eggplanes and toon tanks were a real flash in the pan! As long as they don't make a huge loss, & go bust, I believe there's room for fantasy. If only MiniArt had come up with something less impractical, and more believable!

It is based on a prototype tank developed by Germany as per http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/ww...s/kugelpanzer/

If they had done this in 1/56 (28mm) it would have fitted well into the conflict 47 gaming universe, not sure what size the 1/35th market is for one of these? However, I quite like it myself, even if I can’t see myself buying one. Makes a change from interminable tigers and panthers though....

                  Ferdinand ' snap fit' = 98 pieces, Armata = 151 pieces - quite a high part count for a 1/72 tank

They actually say that it is a reboxing of the 'Dragon' model, quite a surprise.

This has somehow passed me by - available after 31st August ( er, Ist September? )

This is I believe all new tooling, and bears no ties to any other makers model ( Tamiya?) - Oddly enough I can't find any reference to it on the Revell Facebook, or website, but it is available to pre-order on some retail sites
