It should be 66 cm long and 97 cm wide — not small, but still something your average railroad modeller will probably laugh at

But it is a lot of kit for your money and in the time taken in building you would probably do enough ‘lesser kits’ to equalise the cost!

I am very much torn with this one. I would love to get it but I will need to convince the missus that I can drill holes in the garage wall to mount it when done.... that will not be an easy task as she only tolerates the Hobby at the best of times. Then there is the 1/32 B24 being released by Hobbyboss and I so want a 1/32 Halifax and I would not mind betting Hobbyboss will release one...

Fine if you have that sort of dosh to lay out in one go!
I just can't see the justification in such a crazy amount of money for one kit.

....oh, and whilst I'm at it - Ban Christmas and don't give children any more ice cream!

What serious modeller wouldn’t spend at least as much on add-ons as on the kit itself?

Why would you if its not needed? Please define a 'serious modeller'?

Many aftermarket sets are a waste of time adding detail that will not be seen.

Many kits, such as the Tamiya 1/32 'superkits' in particular need little to improve them producing a perfectly good result OOB.

I almost always buy a.m. seatbelts and masks and venture into additional resin, brass and white metal sets rarely and only when I see a particular need (weak undercarraige perhaps). I never buy the Eduard detailing sets as they are a waste of time. So does that mean I am not a serious modeller whatever that means?

We all build what suits us and spend whatever we want and no-one is right or wrong. It is just a hobby at the end of the day for all of us.

Although I always have fun when building stuff, at the same time I like to think myself as a "Serious Modeller".

You seem to imply that because those modellers who neither want nor need aftermarket stuff are at best just 'playing' at model making.

As Barry writes "Please define a "serious modeller"?

Barry's last sentence sums it up nicely.

Now I'm off to cool down a bit.......
