    Hi Bob

you'll need an extension to display it!

At least Peter can make you a crew!

    Enjoy the future present.

My 60th birthday was a text from the NHS, telling me I was being locked in for 12 weeks!!!

Lovely Covid-19 just what I wanted for my 60th birthday, the lock in not the virus!!

I have done some painting so its not all bad!

Enjoy the anticipation of buying it and giving the postie a hernia!

    Regards

    Steve H

I dare say I’ll be purchasing a kit. I’ve got 2 of Trumpy’s 1/16 Pz.IVs and a 1/16 Trumpy Panther so a it would seem criminal not to get the Stug too! Together with the Tamiya RC Panther and Tiger I I’ve a pretty sizeable collection of 1/16 armour now. If Bob needs an extension to display his Stug I’m gonna need a new wing to the house!!!

Looks like the kit will be a G which suits me fine.
          Cheers P

            Thanks all

I hope trumpeter do it with a full interior like the other big kits and they do more than one version. Would love either a E, B or better a F8. Just being greedy lol. Hope the aftermarket mob get stuck in!!

I have the King Tiger, Pz IV H, Late Pather G in 1 16 plus the Tamiya kubelwagen and Takom Pz 1 in 1 16.

Also looking forward to the new Takom 1 35 G, looking at there new Pz 111 M and the sprues, it does not seem to have a interior but they look very good!

It will also give trumpeter the basis for a Pz 111!

Ideal retirement pressy to me lol

I fully expect this to have a full interior. I’d also expect that in the future other versions will be offered, also a couple of Panzer IIIs (as they share the same chasis).

I too have the Tamiya 1/16 Kubelwagen (forgot about that one).

Have you started any of these big kits yet Bob? I’m busy with the Tamiya RC Panther at the mo.
              Cheers

                Hi Paul

Not yet, not brave enough!! Will have to see whats in the kit to decide what other models could be built, the sprues will be the clue. Hopefully like Dragon plenty of spares, but will no doubt get 2!

You should Bob. Fortune favours the brave!!!
Anyhoo, when you're ready you can expect plenty of sprues and detail. There is, of course, loads of scope for detailing further. I've started one of my Panzer IV kits, but I won't be finishing this for a while as I do like to vary things a bit (after the Panther I fancy building a couple of 1/20 F1 cars). I think what will probably happen is I'll build both Pz IVs together. I have 2 H versions which I'll build again as 12SS and will complement my Early Panther G nicely.

Having seen and worked with the plastic in these kits I know they are good. Some areas could do with correction and/or more detail but what kit doesn't? I think you'll enjoy them immensely.

                  Cheers
                  P

                    Hi Paul

Got most of them at good prices, the Pz IV H came with a lot of the AFV extras, worth a lot inc the engine, got it with a cheeky bid! Hope AFV do ones for the StuG!

Lucky you! I'm not bothering with the AFV aftermarket stuff. A lot of that can be either scratched or kit bashed. Besides, I intend to fix the upper hull and therefore not too much interior detail will ever be seen. It is nice that Trumpeter have modelled the interiors though as it adds to the 'busy' look when looking through the hatches. It may be that I build one of the Pz IVs as a knocked out tank, in which case I probably will look at super detailing parts of the interior. But if I build both as running tanks then I'll confine myself to detailing the outsides and sculpting crew members

In answer to your question though... I'm sure if David Parker (author of both the previous super detailed King Tiger and Panzer IV) gets hold of the Stug then AFV will be offering kit upgrades from his masters.

                      Cheers

                        Hi Paul

Never tried a good old scratch, would not know where to start. Not a clue how you work out what size/thickness of plastic to use????

Got one of the David Parker books and truly fantastic work
