Most of the weathering products in the box im sure some of us have got kicking about anyway ,my main concern with all this stuff wether aimed at armour ,wingy things boats or trains is as we all know you can read the books watch YouTube till your brain rots but as you've all found out it ain't nothin like it is in the movies ,it shows you the way but your own path still has to be found and when they just don't happen like it did on YouTube (instant fantastic professional results anybody can do in the shake of a paint brush)how many beginners will back out of the hobby thinking that was poo. I hope these sets aren't aimed at someone starting out more for someone who has perhaps found their neich intrest. Lets be honest a lot of these products don't really do what it says on the tin. Dave
Couldn’t agree more David. The best initial approach is find out “why” things are done that way rather than the “how” things are done. The key skill is observation, and you can’t buy that in a box. These boxes are the modelling equivalent of a Bert Weedon “play guitar in a day“ book. If you know what you are doing you can do great things more efficiently with them. But! If you don’t, you still have to put in the modelling hours to build up muscle memory and technique. Just like guitarists have to play scales and chord sequences interminably before they can play in a day!

Off topic, I was good friends with Bert.
Lovely guy.
Fabulous Del. I‘ve never met, or even seen him, but I always think of him as the musical equivalent of Bob Ross......contented in his art and happy to communicate his love of it to others.
If MIG or anyone else for that matter, were to offer for sale a magic solution that claimed to instantly turn a model into a spectacular artwork, I am sure there would be some people who would buy it. As far as I am concerned , save your money !
