Hopefully the Fenland and Spalding show is still going a head later in the year.

Must get to specsavers never mind a model show 'headUng' really.... :rolling:.
The MAFVA are holding their virtual show, send in a pic they say, I say, how can you really judge a model from a pic, when you cannot beat looking at the real thing. Just my opinion.

Shame that. So many things affected by this virus. Maybe a few of the autumn shows will go ahead but whether people will feel safe enough to travel and attend is another matter.

A lot of shows have taken a two year whammy!
Not sure, but I think that the Milton Keynes one in May has gone by the board as well.

                    One modellers opinion.
Just had an email today from MAFVA to let me know that there is to be another virtual model show with photographs being used as examples.
I looked at the results from last years virtual competition and no insult to the modellers, but the photographs did nothing for me.
Sorry MAFVA but I totally disagree with your idea, If I attend a competition it is to view others work, talk to the modellers and perhaps pick up or help with ideas and tips.
With todays Photoshop, Gimp programs I can take a rubbish model, photograph it and enhance it with filters etc from these programs and make it look like a real winner.
How can you judge a model from a few photographs, I know I cannot, but I can get in close and smell the paint if I look at the real thing, and apreciate the work that has gone into the build.
So I will not be attending.

Having seen your work Mike and Paul's up close and photos of it on here there is a great difference. Agree fully, suppose they are just trying to keep the whole thing alive.

I applaud the idea behind it, but I have to agree it does not give a true representation of the build and as Mike has said the two way discussions.

I suppose their thinking was that a virtual show is better than nothing. Perhaps we will all have to accept that shows will have to wait until 2022, unless a few take place in late autumn.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that Telford will go ahead this year! Let's see!

Virtual shows cannot replace the real thing, but to be fair a number of people take time and trouble to create a virtual show and post up photos for everyone's benefit so let's not be too critical guys.
