    Morning David.
Just had a look at the article, removing the item from the moulding frame looked to be an achievement in its self.
Price wise , well it reminds me of the cost of Fruits against the original cost of the kit. Suppose this will decrease as these printers become cheaper like most electronics.
I'd be interested to read what modellers first thought of PE when that first appeared and when that was .

About 10 years ago an engineer, as a test, printed an HO scale machine shop that was amazing. Back then it would have cost a fortune if marketed (no visible lines), but everyone saw the potential to modeling. Going from drawings to product w/o molds.

Hi Paul ,as were both at the small scale end of the hobby I dont think there will be a rush of products heading in our direction although saying that some of the Dragon 72nd stuff is now including printed parts. Thinking longish term (just realised thats dangerous) I wonder how viable it will become as with kits once moulds are produced press button inject plastic press button eject plastic ,how long did it take to print one of thoes strutts ,look at the packing nessasary to protect it against bag it and box it.
I hope it happens thoes struts are amazing but dose the hobby really need more tigers panthers,pz 3's n 4's stugs AtoZ's me i just want some decent 72nd Jerry cans.

As incredible as they look I can but wonder how many sets will get trashed removing them from the cages. Most of us know that resin is not the most forgiving material.
                But the detail is amazing!

As with all new tech this type of thing will get quicker, easier, and cheaper, and be adopted far faster than we expect. The material science involved will also advance at an ever increasing speed so that the printed media will be tailored to specific need.
It’s already making significant inroads into the gaming market. There are so many applications it can be turned to that 3D printing will replace traditional cottage industry techniques that supply aftermarket stuff over the next few years. Remember how quickly digital photography displaced old style wet film
